Details: Ribière Record Falls : 70lb 5oz

Dutch Carper Robert Meijer banked a massive new Domaine de la Ribière record on the 13th October breaking the Seventy pound barrier for the first time at this venue.
Fishing on peg no: 7 the huge mirror, that tipped the scales at 70lb 5oz (32 kg), picked up Robert’s Trigga Ice pop up at around 4am. The conditions were perfect with a warm clear night, and a water temperature of 16°.
Robert fished his fluoro-carbon stiff rig on a 12ft 2.75lb Century Fat Boy Slim rod and Shimano Baitrunner reel. Robert commented:
“After 6 years, we finally hit the Jackpot! A 32 Kilo mirror. (70,5 lbs)

Details: Ribiere Carp Record Tumbles

The carp record at the Domaine de la Ribière has fallen to a British angler on October 2nd.

A massive mirror of 66lb 5oz (30.2kg) was captured to British angler Mr. Ford from this 25 acre lake in near Limoges on Moday.

The venue with it's excellent three star gite de France accommodation and swimming pool has also carved a name for its self as a big fish water. Recent catches of big fish have been spectacular, and were topped by this large mirror that beats the previous lake record which stood at 66lb dead.

Details: Five week session on Ribière

French couple Paul and Nathalie Cholley from Montreuil near Paris undertook a mammoth 5 week session on the Domaine de la Ribière in July & August 2007.

They enjoyed a most memorable session landing 225 carp for a weight of over three tonnes. They had an average of 6-7 runs a day including 19 carp from 43lb to 51lb 7oz. made up of 15 forties and 4 fifties. (The 51lb 7oz was banked three times)

The capture of a 49lb 7oz mirror allowed Nathalie to smash her personal best which had previously been 26lb.
Paul beat my record common at 50lb 2oz it had previously been 49lb 5oz.

They said this about the venue: “We discovered this lake on the internet two years ago. We fished a total of five weeks last year and six this year. During our sessions we have discovered a site with an exceptional head of big fish. Thanks to the people and the setting it really is a haven of peace”.

Details: Session at the Domaine de la Ribière (Story of two Carp Fishing fanatics)

Michel and Laurent, who work together, discovered that they shared the same passion: Carp Fishing.
Both anglers had till then fished their own waters, they however decided to organise a session together and opted for the carpers paradice ‘Le Domaine de la Ribière to the south of Limoges.

They arrived for what they were sure would be an unforgettable session, but from this to actually catching the fish was another thing.

They set up on the Saturday June 2nd at midday, and prepared a welcome meal after their seven hour drive. Both anglers wished to better their current PB’s which stood at 44lb (20kg) for Michel and 28lb 6oz (13kg) for Laurent.

They got their lines out by 4pm… the first run came to Laurent’s rods at around six and was a 27lb 5oz mirror. They then had a long wait until Sunday evening at around 9:15 pm when a run made them start. Michel was into a huge fish.

“As night was falling we could see it in the dusk”

Laurent and Michel’s son netted the fish by wading into the water, and were amazed by the gigantic fish. Once on the unhooking mat, Michel was overjoyed as he had captured a superb specimen. The verdict on the scales: 61lb 6oz. His PB totally smashed. Michel naturally celebrated the carp well into the night.

There followed a few average size fish in the 26lb to 30lb bracket up till the Monday morning when a buzzer sounded once again to everyone’s surprise!! Michel bagged a 46lb’er…

Finally on Tuesday afternoon, Laurent was rewarded with a very pretty mirror of 51lb. They then caught successive fish of 39lb 6oz and 41lb 8oz.

This session gave us great pleasure and some fantastic fights, but we would like to congratulate the owners of the Ribière Michel and Sylviane as well as Jerome, the fishing bailiff who made us very welcome, and showed us their kindness and professionalism.

We can’t wait to come back to fish in this tranquil and enjoyable place. It was with heavy hearts that we packed away our gear to return back to our daily routines..

We were delighted with the vidange of Ribiere that took place on Sunday 26 November, the results speak for themselves!!!

602 carp for a total weight of 8400kg
43 carp over 20kg (44lb) largest 30kg (66lb)
Average weight 14kg (30lb 8oz)

We also stocked, at the same time, 65 new carp from 13kg to nearly 20kg (29lb to over 40lb) See attached photos.
2007 looks set to be a great year, with conditions that will surely please our carp fishing friends.

Details: Fantastic catch - 48 carp for 1500lb...biggest 50lb!

We have just witnessed an impressive and remarkable exploit at La Ribière by a young French carper of only 17 years of age. At the start of his session he was immediately impressed by the new Special Crab boilies from Quest baits. He made a good choice here as on the first day at 10am he landed a 33lb 8oz carp and that afternoon a second fish at 47lb 5oz on these baits. On his other two rods he was fishing with home made boilies, he didn't have a bleep!

He therefore decided to switch all rods to the Special Crab.. and what a festival! The next day he had a string of fish one after another, 50lb 6oz; 47lb 4oz; 30lb 8oz; 33lb. On the third day he landed a 41lb 8oz as well as several fish between 29lb and 36lb and so on....

His total for the week was 48 carp for over 1500lb of fish, average weight 32lb. All carp fell to the "Special Crab" from Quest Baits.

Details: New stock

Here are pictures of the new stock for Domaine de la Ribière. We added thirty fish in December. They are Royale Czech Strain. The weight is between 13 and 15 kg with a big potential of growing about 6 kg per year. Guaranteed age of maximum 6 years.
