This venue lies near the beautiful city of Limoges.  It's a lovely lake set in a rural valley, holding an extremely good head of very large carp.  Ribiere is an extremely well run venue and the lake is truly beautiful, set in stunning "Estate Lake" type surroundings.  Over the last few years the quality of the fishing, surroundings & accommodation have seen this venue establish itself as one of the very best in France.

A large water of around 25 acres, this former gravel pit has depths varying from 6 to 1.5 metres.

There are swims on both sides and all the pegs are wide and spacious - some can comfortably accommodate 3 or 4 anglers. All pegs are pre-booked... you will be asked to make a choice when you book your holiday.

If the ground conditions are good you can drive to most of the pegs and then return your car to the car park. If it's wet you can drive to the lake edge & then wheel barrows are available to help transport your tackle to your swim.

There are separate showers and toilets for anglers who are not using the accommodation.

A really interesting underwater feature is the bridge which crossed the stream which ran through the valley before the lake was formed. This is a real holding feature for the fish, although many are lost as they dart for sanctuary underneath the bridge.

It can be found in the middle of the lake, roughly 1/3 of the way down from the dam end.

The accommodation on this venue is truly superb!  

There are 6 studio-apartments which sleep up to 4 people and one which sleeps up to 6 people,  just 150 metres from the lake.  They include double beds, en-suite shower room, kitchen dining area and couch/settee.  All have satellite TV  (English speaking channels are BBC World, CNN & Euronews) and private patio with table, chairs and BBQ.  This would ideally suit a family.

In the same block there are also 7 self-contained bedrooms with en-suite shower and satellite TV.  Four rooms sleep 2 people with twin beds, the other 3 rooms are for 2-3 people with a double and one single bed.  All these rooms have use of a large communal kitchen and dining area to prepare your own meals or snacks.  You can also use the large shared patio which has BBQ's, tables etc.

Along with the accommodation you also get exclusive use of a heated swimming pool and sauna - carp fishing has never been more luxurious!  There are deer and donkeys on site too.  All in all a rare combination - an excellent fishing venue for the angler with luxury accommodation available on-site to keep the non-anglers happy too.

Bait boats can be hired for 90 Euros per angler per week. 2 anglers using same boat are charged 135 Euros (maximum of 2 anglers per boat). You’ll need to reserve them in advance via the Angling Lines office but you’ll pay the lake direct when you arrive.

The lake contains a really impressive head of specimen carp to the lake record of 70lb. There are also around 20 cat fish present to over 100lb.

There is an impressive stock of other coarse species too, including trout. Crayfish are present at Ribiere but you can always "Net" your baits to stop them being eaten by the little nuisances!

The Complete Package -  Airport Pick-Up & Tackle Hire
To save on the hassle of driving it is possible to fly to Limoges and be picked up at the airport - there are lots of extremely good priced deals flying direct from London (Stansted) - we've seen Ryan Air ( www.ryanair.com ) offer them as low as £40 return!  The owner will transport up to 4 people & return you at the end of your holiday.  The price for this service is £60.  You can then hire your tackle (listed below) at a cost of £135 per week.  There is an additional security deposit of 350 Euros (approximately £250) payable to the owner on arrival, returned assuming there is no damage to the tackle.  The tackle provided is:
