Oakview Lake is not just new to Angling
Lines… it’s also brand new to the world
of angling. If you like the idea of being
amongst the first to test your skills on
virgin fish then this could be the perfect
venue for you. It’s located in the beautiful
Mayenne countryside, around 2½ hours
from the Caen ferry, and the 2½ acre lake
has been worked on with anglers in mind.
A combination of a central island and
swims on the curving banks means that
up to 4 anglers can all enjoy fishing both
the margins and the island.
By the summer of 2008 Oakview had completed half of its initial stocking programme and although there was more to follow before the 2009 season we did send several field testers over. Here's what they had to say:
"A screaming run banked a gorgeous mirror... and 20 minutes later I was back on the terrace enjoying my sun-downers. All this and a very large increase in fish stock due to be delivered next week. I only wish I could have stayed another week. I'll be back"

The lake was completely drained and cleaned in November 2007 and received its first carp stock in March 2008. The mixture of mirrors and commons up to 30lb have had room to grow, piling on the weight all summer. No guarantee that you will be the first to catch (and even name) the first 30’s from this lake… but one thing is certain… the lake record is bound to tumble many times in its first season. Younger anglers are welcome to practice their tactics on the beautiful half acre stock pond adjacent to the main lake. It’s packed full of carp up to 10lb.

Both anglers and non-anglers will enjoy
the lodge with its covered decking area
overlooking the lake. If you choose one
of the lodge swims, you won’t even have
to pull in your rods to enjoy a meal with
friends and family in comfort. The lodge
has two twin bedrooms and sofa-bed
and is fully equipped to cater for 6 people
with satellite television, shower room and
separate toilet. There’s also a toilet in the
separate tackle room. A range of games
and outdoor play equipment is available
for younger visitors and a travel cot and
playpen are also provided.

including bike rides, boat trips along the
stunning Mayenne River and visiting the
numerous Châteaux. Why not take one
