Details: June starts well !!
This weeks group have started June well with personal best fish of 37lb Mirror and 31lb common for two of our three anglers, their non fishing Mom taking the photo's and supplying the sandwitches.
Also banked where lots of smaller fish 12lb to 28lb.
With the sun shinning they have a good start for the seasons tan, only one or two sore red bits from dozing off after lunch and a couple of beers.
We have also had strange goings on with guest dressing up as French Maids (also after a couple !!)

Details: Strange week !
This week our four guests from Lincolnshire had a strange week, on the bottom lake. Glynn Merrill took a P.B 38lb Mirror as well as eight other fish whilst the rest could not get a bite !
Glynn decided to move onto the top lake to free up his productive peg and give the others a chance of a fish... but again next morning he finds himself with a 33lb 7oz fish on the bank.
The weather has been under avereage for the season and the fish are just starting to move around and be seen. Only one day of sunshine saw the guys with shirts off, the rest of the time was very damp and overcast.
The guys departed today (not talking to Glynn!) after having a good all round week and vowing to return next year to try again.

Details: One for the smokers
After the introduction of the smoking ban in France at the start of the year we decided to put up a new smoking area outside the restaurant to keep smokers dry.
We have pushed on in order to have the new area ready for the arrival of our first customers of the year and we finally finished at the weekend.
It turned out to be a bit bigger than we thought when we had the idea so we have also included a brick built Bar-B-Que for those sultry summer evenings when you can eat, drink and have a smoke and still be next to the lake!

Details: Getting ready for the new season
Two short afternoon sessions in the wet and mild weather on the top lake have seen the venue record broken twice with two different fish, both Mirrors weighing in at 41lb-4oz & 41lb-12oz, the old record was 41lb.
Day ticket anglers on the top lake have been taking lots of carp over the last couple of weeks from 1lb (22mm boilie !!)to the new venue record.
Over the winter we have installed new metal gates at both ends of the smaller lake, making it easier to open and close (especialy in the dark after the bar closes !).
We have fitted life saving equipment around both lakes to comply with safety regulations.
All that remains it to cut the grass and make the beds to be ready for our first guests.
Best wishes Paul & Anita
