General comments: After fishing on through one of the worst week of weather with 3" of snow eastly winds and rain Tom landed his Pb of 42lb 4oz mirror Dave helped us with the bait and ideas, but as stated the weather was attrocious but this as not put us of booking for 2010 as we 2009 is full. General comments: The holiday was fine. But the weather was very cold and stayed with us all week. We found Dave to be in your face when we arrived, being a family holiday we wanted to be left alone. Being the last on the lake for the season meant he was keen to get on with work on the lake. We would like to book again... May - August would be good!!

General comments: What can we say this is our 4th visit to Lac du Val and we will keep coming back, hence we have already booked for 2009/10/11, We had 3 Pbs and it just gets better, the food is brilliant thanks to Sammy. Dave goes out of his way to help you catch a fish, the pair are brilliant host. We have 2 x 40s. 3 x 30s, 5 x 20s the weather was good and the comany was great a really good laugh all week. General comments: Sharon Prowse; Another fantastic week with Dave and Sammy we cannot wait till the next one in May, the food was wonderful as always and the company was great, I had a new Pb with a lovely 41lb 5oz mirror with help of Dave this was the icing on the cake, always listen to him and you will not go wrong, this is just a few comments on why we keep coming back to Lac du Val year after year a big thankyou once again to Dave and Sammy. Oh and happy birthday Dave for Monday. General comments: The lake owner seemed more interested in the couple staying in the lodge who have been there several times before. Food package was not worth the money, and onlt one hot drink a day which was with breakfast. We tried all owners tactics to catch fish. Eventually i changed back to to my own rigs and caught 2 fish. Very disappointed for my first visit to France.

David was very helpful and the shop on site is very well stocked. ps be awhere of the shoe snatcher (dog).

General comments: Sammy and I fished approx from 5am in the morning untill 9pm, no night fishing was needed, I foung crushed pellet with flake maize really did the trick balanced Lac du Val baits with trigger D-rigs, most fish caught on drop backs. amount of bait used was 2 x 5kg bags of Lac du Vals, 2 x buckets of pellet, 1 x bucket of maize and 2 x buckets of flake maize. A really great weeks holiday.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: The best tactics we used was Lac du Val Special boilies with pellet pop-ups and Dave`s stickmix this paid off as between the two of us we had 1056lb of fish altogether using D-trigger rigs and snowmans using 130kg of bait altogether

General comments: What can be said about Lac du Val when we say we have booked a further five weeks next year. Dave and Sammy was beyond expectations in all the help Dave gave us and Sammy with her fantastic food package. General comments: We can not fault the place in anyway, we now know what we did wrong, by bivvying up too close to each other and by also using our own bait for the first two days, then we changed over to Lac du Vals and started catching, we made the mistake of thinking because our own bait would work here, but when we come back in 2010 we will be bringing nothing with us and buy the bait we require off Dave. Sammy`s food was absolutely spot on. Thanks Dave, Mike and Vic

General comments: This is our third visit and we have booked a further five weeks for next year, as usual the fishing was superb starting off on the first night with 2 x 30s. The lake on arrival looked fantastic Sammy and Dave at their best on the welcome front our week be made complete with 27 fish totaling 585lb 6oz obviously with the help of Dave expert advice. Sammy`s food is lovely and cannot be faulted. Next year we are here for five weeks roll on 2009.

General comments: Sharon: Another great week with Sammy & Dave, it must be good here because we have now booked another five trips in the next 2 years, we can`t wait for the next one in October. We also met some great people including Snagy Dave and pikey Bob from the Isle of White lets hope we meet up again. Sammy provided the usuall fantastic food and both Sammy and Dave was more than helpful in every way, with great company all week, can`t wait for October. Dave: Fantastic place and Dave and Sammy are really wonderful people and have become good friends. the fish are wising up now so don`t think it will be a breeze, listen to Dave, there are loads of lovely fish just waiting to be caught, lets not forget Sammy`s fantastic food. more great holidays for the next 2 years are booked. General comments: All our fish was caught on Lac du Val baits and pop-ups with plenty of pellet around the the hook bait and also free offerings of maize and running rigs. David is really helpful so just ask him anything and he will tell you what to do with lots of funny stories. Sammy`s cookin is great and so is the lake and all the animals, Sammy`s shepards pie is to die for and better than my mums, this is our second visit to Lac du Val and we are planning our third. General comments: David: What can I say about this fishery, fantastic to catch 2 x 40s one of them being a common of 45lbs is a one in a lifetime experience and one I will not forget. Sammy`s food was great and very filling. Dave- thankyou for all the advice it really opened my eyes to a different way of angling, one that caught me some huge fish, you both should be proud of what you have achieved with the facilities and fishing. I will be back and hunting down that 50lber. Thankyou. Daniel: This was my first fishing trip to France and let me say it`s the first of many. During my week stay I managed to beat my personal best and catch 3 x 30lb mirrors. However this could only of been through the advice of Dave, and Sammy`s food was absolutly fantastic and they really cater for every need.I would just like to say thankyou and hope that someone cancells next year. Thanks folks. Mike: Fishing was top notch, the food was top notch, the dog was top notch Oh Sammy and Dave was ace!! All in all a great week was had by all. thanks Mike. Daren: Upon arriving here Saturday afternoon we received a very warm welcome from David and Sammy. It was apprarent from the start that they both run the fishery as a passion as apposed to a business and this was clear by the care of the fish respect shown towards them by David in the way it was expected for us to do the same, as it should be. Unfortunately I didn`t get my first fish until Wednesday and this was due to me adopting my method of putting small beds of bait and fishing for one fish at a time. During my week here I have seen some of the most immaculate fish on the bank I have ever come across, do not be fooled into thinking that because of the size of the lake the big fish are few and far between, THIS IS THE EXACT OPPOSITE! if you are after the bestpossible opportunity of breaking your personal best then this is the place. Out of 4 of us 3 broke their Pbs twice. Two very good examples were on the Wednesday evening just under a 100lb of fish were landed in less than an hour and on Thursday night a 36lb mirror and 45lb common were landed within 15mins (by Dave Seal) To sommarise, a great week was had by all, the jouney is easy, the food is brilliant, the lake is beautiful. the facilities are perfect. the fish are large and plentiful and David and Sammy are two of the nicest people you could wish to meet. Thankyou to you both for a great week. David if you are ever in Sussex and need the policeman you know who to call (or not as the case may be! ) See you next year Daren.

General comments: Dave & Sammy are wonderful hosts - we didn't stop laughing with them all week,nothing was too much trouble.Sammy your cooking is amazing, Dave we loved the banter & advice we had with you. Shame the weather was so bad who knows how much better we'd have done. Already rebooked for 2010 as next year is fully booked. Someone take some tinned red salmon for Dave - he can't wait that long!

General comments: Jane; Sammy & Dave are brilliant people, both know the lake so well. Listen to their advice even after 20 yrs of carp fishing you still have a lot to learn. It is just a shame the weather was so rainy, be prepared to have an away day in the other swim, nothing was too much trouble for Dave & Sammy and cannot thank them enough as we have already booked for 2010. Dave; Fantastic venue, great host and lovely fish just wish I had got into the bigger fish but on leaving it to my wife Jane she showed me how on the far side swim. But I will be back to try again, had some lovely big twenties shame it rained all week but we leave with some nice memories and great funny stories from Dave. THIS PLACE IS THE FLAGSHIP OF ANGLINGLINES. Ignore Dave`s advice at your peril you have been warned.

General comments: Leah: Wonderful venue, wonderful people, wonderful fishing. I have enjoyed every moment of this week and could not have asked for more for this holiday as I have smashed my PB three times, I loved the cats and dog and wish I could take them home with me. Sammy and Dave have been so friendly and heplful all week I wish I could come again. Thank you Sammy for changing my appetite on food forever. Sue: I have not carp fished for many years this week I managed to beat my PB four times!! A very big thank you to Dave and Sammy for providing an excellent venue and Sammy`s wonderful food and great company, me and my famliy enjoyed a fantastic holiday which hopefully we will repeat one day. Thanks once again Dave & Sammy. John: I have enjoyed watching my wife and daughter and sister-in-law catch their personal best carp including 4 x 30s and 5 x 20s, Dave and Sammy have been wonderful and I could have not asked to meet two nicer people, Sammy`s food is excellent and the venue is full class.

General comments: Dan: We all had a fantastic time at Lac du Val and I would recommend it to anyone the service was better than good and I will be booking up again at the first vacancy. Tony: Believe what you read on the website, do not bother bringing your own bait, Dave & Sammy know there lake inside out. Listen and learn Dave is a genuine nice guy and wants you to catch fish. The lake is the most pictureque I have seen and the fish fight like they are on steroids. A lovely place with a great charecter like the owner. ps don`t run to your buzzers when the dogs loose because you will get your arse bit!!! Mat: Great lake great fish and Dave will put you on the money and if you bet with him he will take it off you. Dave and Sammy are great people. Dave: We all had a very enjoyable week with good fun and good banter with Dave & Sammy. Big Phil: It has been a privelage to have met 2 such lovely people who are so passionate about there anglers and lake Dave now known as the silver fox is a character always listen to what he lets you and you will not go wrong, look forward to reading Dave`s new book as the stories he tells are unbeiveable. General comments: This was a brilliant holiday thanks to Sammy & Dave it is our second visit to Lac du Val and we would loved to have come back next year only to find out it is fully booked. I would also would like to say thankyou to Sammy for catering for myself as I am such a fussy eater and Dave`s knowlege on carp is outstanding

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Ask Dave was our tactics ( IF HE SAID TO PUT ON A BANANA AND THROUGH IT OUT WE WOULD HAVE DONE IT) Lac du Val boilies pellet and we used Dave`s fishfood stickmix this year for the first time and it worked.

Were the facilities what you expected? Brilliant, they just get better

Would you recommend our services to a friend? As always Anglinglines always surprise us with how they deal with every unforseen event professionally and without any worry to yourself.

General comments: Dave`s knowlege of this lake seams to grow with every year we have visited, his knowlege on carp and carping are seconded to none, just when you are starting to struggle he will move in on and give much needed advice and you have got another fish in your net. We brought a new comer to the carping world Chris with us this year and what he learnt in one week about fishing will last him a lifetime. Chris says: What a fantastic lake Dave and Sammy have made this a real one off, his carping knowlege will gaurentee you a fish and I smashed my Pb three times and have left here with a pricless experence as well a a very full stomach by sammy`s first class cooking. I will be trying my hardest to return to this perfect fishing holiday next year with the lads. Thanks to Anglinglines, Sammy & Dave for making my dream come true. Adam says: Lac du Val really is a anglers dream lake. Dave and Sammy are awsome, the fishing is unbievable, the condition of the fish is a credit to Dave and Sammy`s cooking is incredible. Just listen to Dave he is the man, no one knows the fish better. Zac says: This lake really is the best lake I have ever fished and will be coming back year after year. Anglinglines take care of everything for you so all you have to do is put your fishing gear in the car so no problems for you. Dave always make sure you catch fish and Sammy will not let you go hungry, top notch cooking. This is the perfect lake with huge fish and Pbs smashed week after week this just does not get any better.

General comments: All the fish were stunning and lovely 42lb common crowned it which went to Mark, a really beautiful lake and Sammy`s cooking left us with empty plates every time, we did offer to marry her but she was already taken. No mossis was a big bonus. A lovely mixture of big commons and mirrors, lots of Pbs over and over. Mark says, a stunning lake and fish, I never thought I would go home with a fish of a lifetime and as they say in the movies..... I will be back!

Brief details of your catches: 58 lovely Carp, 19 Doubles, 27 x 20's, 8 x 30's, 43lb 4oz Mirror for Mark Clements and a 22 lb Cat for Neil Lonnen.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Pop ups, bottom baits and zigs on leadclips in the main. Single and double tipped baits worked well, try using fake Maize and Pellet as pop ups too. Baits used were DB Baits, Lac du Val Specials, A-Trax Bio with friut flavour pop ups. We used pellet, maize, partical and boilies as freebies.

Were the facilities what you expected? Better! Just like being at home!

Were you happy with them? Yes, Tackle Shop Hot showers, power points, fridge freezer, and microwave 24/7.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend? Yes, without question.

Would you recommend our services to a friend? Yes, Angling Lines are very organised and helpfull.

General comments: This was our first venture to France and we are all so glad that we chose Lac du Val. Not only for the beautiful lake and its stock of healthy, Carp but our hosts Dave and Sammy. Sammy’s meals are proper home cooked grub and delicious. Local patisserie is very good for lunch time. Please take note of the feedback for this year and 2007. We did and it’s all true! Dave knows where every fish is caught from and how, so listen to his advice, he knows his lake like the back of his hand. Dave’s knowledge not only of his lake that he created but of Carp fishing is immense. We would advise you to go with an open mind and don’t think that even though you may be a seasoned Carper in the UK you know everything, in the UK every venue fishes with different tactics, Lac du Val is no different! A very sociable venue for anglers, with most swims close to each other. Watch out for white cats and Moley….lol (Ask Dave).

General comments: Top quality food from Sammy, excellent advise from old Dave who knows what he is talking about, beautiful fish with picturesque surrounding, lovely clean facilities with a well stocked little shop.
