Brief details of your catches: 7 x mirror carp up to 42 lbs, 5 common carp weighed in up to 30lbs, few kittens, few perch and two large catfish up to 60lbs.personal best for michael heywood was 60lb catfish and 42.3 lb mirror carp.personal best for dominic field 50lb catfish.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: tried every boilie possible no luck so reverted to natural baits, worked like a treat also did not cost a penny,slugs found in and around hideaway!!! baited up with maize and sweetcorn.

Were the facilities what you expected? of course, we own it !!

Were you happy with them? more than,nice to be able to grab a few weeks fishing instead of working here.

General comments: very enjoyable fishing, very mild fishing conditions, just like to add 60lb catfish caught on 15lb line.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Use of blackleads fishing first 1/3 of the lake.Using mainline cell boilies

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: We tried everything that Peter suggested and some variations of our own. Fishing was diabolical, 4 bites in 140 hours fishing is not good!

Were the facilities what you expected? Worse

Were you happy with them? No.. having said that we were very comfortable.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend? Yes but not until the fishing is sorted.

Would you recommend our services to a friend? Definitely

General comments: Hideaway is a fantastic setting and has great potential, but when paying top money a lot more bites wouldn't go amiss. Needs TLC, lodge steps lethal when wet!

Brief details of your catches: 34lb mirror on first night31lb and 30lb mirrors (within 5 mins of each other on 2nd day29lb mirror on 4th dayPlus, about 6 other takes. 4 came off and 2 snapped (15lb and 18lb line) At least 3 of these were BIG cats. Great fights though.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: All 4 taken on boilie (norm and pop ups)Halibut luncheon meat attracted the cats

General comments: This is a great 'get away from it all' venue. Exactly what I wanted. Shame the weather while we were there was bad (rain & drizzle throughout week - like the rest of Europe). Losing 2 big cats on the last night was exciting, but a massive disappointment, which just makes me eager to go back and try again. All 4 carp (3 caught in deep end), bettered my previous pb, so delighted with that. Most activity at dawn and dusk. Say hi to the big sturgeon for me. He regularly comes into your swim for a nose about and sometimes drags off a line or two.

General comments: Loved the lodge and location, very unhappy about the fishing, did not see much evidence of any carp in the lake.

General comments: Baliff was very helpful, and was disappointed that we weren't catching, but that's fishing. Had a really nice time

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: both carp caught on leadclips with korda 20lb stiff hybrid and korda size 6 kurv shank hooks, bait varied the first fish 35lb carp was caught on 3 halved mainline cell boilies the second 22lb carp was caught on 3 grains of maize witha trimmed down pineapple pop up to balance the weight of the hook and hook bait, and the cat was caught on a free lined dead roach.

General comments: The lodge and facilities very good, nice weather regulary making 90 degrees and 100 degress on some days heavy rain on last day and night still warm though. very peaceful well run fishery. Fishing very slow due to hot weather and low oxygen levels, not to mention high angling pressure the lake has been receiving lateley. Pete the bailiff very friendly and helpful hes happy to give you as much advice as you need which helped me bank my last two fish.

Brief details of your catches: Two anglers, one fishing p/t and no nights. 39 carp (Dan 35 fish, Pete 34 fish) opps!! Biggest 34lb 6 oz, smallest 18lb 12oz. 5 x 30lb+, 27 x 20-30lb, 7 x 10-20lb, none under 10lb.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Best location at far end (deep end), tiger nut, + Quest Baits, single baits + snowman rig. Regularly see sturgeon swim by.

General comments: Overall we thought Hideaway was a lovely place to stay, the weather was brilliant. Looking forward to returning in the near future.

Brief details of your catches: 29 carp to 30lb plus, 23 of the carp were over twenty pounds and 6 were over 28 pounds. Also caught sturgeon and cats to over 30lb. Only fished evenings and mornings as we toured the local area during the day.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Fish all three rods in a tight area close to the far bank. Baited up with Quest boilies and trout pellets before going out for the day, when coming back and just before it went dark. Caught consistently during the whole time. The fish obviously loved the Quest boilies.

Were the facilities what you expected? Much, much better.

General comments: This is one of the best family venues that I have visited. The fishing and accomodation were excellent and the surrounding sublime.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Quest 15mm Crab, Irish Cream, Fruity Trifle, Tiger Nut Crunch and Liver B8 all worked well. I fished at the top and the bottom of the lake.

General comments: This is a lovely venue, it was a shame we had no hot water. The bailiff was brill, he gave us excellent advice. Would go to this venue again. Owners comment. Power failure now sorted!
