Ghost Carp Lake offers secluded fishing holidays in the beautiful rural setting of the Loire Valley. There are 2 lakes of 3½ acres and 1 acre, both well stocked with ghost, grass, mirror and common carp up to high 40’s. The owners, John and Sheila Williams, live close by and are always happy to give help and advice.

A few minutes' drive away in the local village you’ll find two bars, a tabac and a well-stocked mini-supermarket - it has a good range of fresh fruit, vegetables and dairy products, meats and fish, household products, and, of course, beer and wine! Alternatively, there are a couple of good restaurants in the village and a wider range of restaurants in the nearby historic market town of Vitré.

The lakes are around eighty years old and are spring fed so water levels remain pretty constant throughout the year. The banks are wide enough to bivvy with easy access from the car park. Both lakes have a silt and gravel base and trees and shrubs surround them giving some excellent margin fishing. There is a railway line close to the venue which sees trains pass by regularly, but it is something you very quickly get used to and within a few hours you’ll probably not notice them at all.

The larger lake is just over 3½ acres with an island feature. Depths range from 2m down to 0.5 m. There are eight swims, one of them a double.

The smaller lake is an acre in size and has 3 swims. It also has a small island.

There are around 100carp up to high 40’s. Mirror, Leather, Commons, a few excellent grassies, and of course 'Ghosties' Other species are specimen tench, roach, and some good size pike. There are no catfish, poisson chat or crayfish.
