General comments: Great fishing lake ran by very nice people, nothing was too much trouble for Alex and Carolyn who made sure you had a pleasant stay. General comments: As well as the 5 anglers we had with us Theresa who was our "Master chef" . You won't meet a nicer couple than Alex & Carolyn they run this fishery superbly. Alex is never in your face, he's happy to let you get on with enjoying your holiday, yet he is always available for tips, and will put you on the hotspots to fish. Nothing is too much trouble for Alex (he kindly borrowed us his walkie talkies). Also Alex & Carolyninvited us round to watch Liverpool FC on the t.v. After a few days of knowing Alex & Carolyn we now look on them not just lake owners but friends. In fact on the last night we joined Alex and his family for a meal in Le Mans. In our party we had a wheelchair angler who was able to get to all pegs with ease. The double door in the shower block made access easy for the wheelchair. All in all the whole set up of Beaute is magnificent. This is truly a wonderland... that is why we've given Alex the nickname "Alex in wonderland" We've been to quite a few lakes in France, but with the quality of the fishing added to the top notch facilities this lake is by far the best we've visited. P.S, thanks for a cracking week. Oh and by the way Liverpool won the match 1-0, proving once again that scousers are No.1 "just like Carolyn" This is why a return trip is looking a cert!!!!

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Rowed bait to far side and gently lowered to sandy bottom - boilies 15mm with hemp, single boilie rigs. Sturgeon had a taste for luncheon meat!!.

General comments: We caught the fishery on an unusually poor week by the looks. A lot of anglers returning from France had a poor week apparently, it must have been the atmospheric conditions or something!!! It took a while for the water to liven up but some nice carp were caught by a few of us. Alex and Carolynn are excellent hosts, we can genuinely call them friends after our week with them.

Brief details of your catches: The temperatures had been in the 30's the week before we got here, but for our week they dropped to in the 20's. Didn't catch much only 3 carp and some cats. The same cat came out 5 times, she was 26lb, called Vicky. Also hooked Serge (the cat) twice.There were fish crashing all the time but they just weren't having it.Alex was really disappointed that we didn't catch much.

Brief details of your catches: Despite very unpredictable weather from torrential rain to glorious sunshine and the fact the fish spawned catches were: 16 doubles, 11 twenties to 26lb, two 30's up to 35lb, 4 cats from 46lb to 67lb,4 sturgeon from 21lb to 26lb,and 13&1/2lb grass carp.

General comments: A lovely lake, well looked after. Alex is a very friendly and helpful guy. General comments: What a fantastic place, a definite big thank you to Alex who looked after us Boys very well. The coffee was lovely, and the ribs even better. General comments: Have fished this venue before. Last year we went in July and although you expect fishing to be slower in the hotter weather, we had a cracking time and caught loads of fish!! This is a smashing venue, but unfortunately you cannot help the weather conditions. Alex is a great host.

General comments: It was a very good week even though for three out of five days the weather was terrible.We had a toital weight of 1056lb between us. Cracking venue, the pegs we wall wanted by the end of the week were 4 & 5, but all pegs produced fish. We had rain for most of the week and cold snap which killed the fishing at points, but with carp to 38lb and catfish to 59lb there are no complaints. A massive thank you to Alex for all his help this is how all fisheries should be run and say hi to Thomas the local for us. We will be back again next year. Dale Farnell Happy Days

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Try Maize or Sweetcorn it works. Beds of bait worrk. Have some tight to the other side and get your marker float out. You are guaranteed a Sturgeon.

General comments: In total 31 fish between us, possibly due to a cold snap early in the week (or we are all rubbish!). A good week in all - Thanks Alex.
