Lac de Beaute
22-29 March 2008
Terry St Pierre and Daniel Ralph
This trip seemed to be a long time in the planning stages but when the time finally arrived the whole trip lived up to its expectations. Early in the year my wife Carmel asked me what I would like for my 60th birthday and I was at a loss, she said you have always wanted a fishing trip to France so go ahead and book one. Being a total beginner on the French scene I took some advice from Dave a chap that fishes my local water in Wiltshire. He was always singing the praises of Lac de Beaute and with a little more internet research the plan was made. My wife insisted that I take Daniel my 13 year old grandson for company and he also being a carp fisherman loved every minute. I won’t go into details of the journey as it was all pretty straight forward and an easy drive from Boulogne or Calais. Suffice to say the photo’s tell the rest of the story.
The stunningly beautiful lake
stocked with an abundance of quality fish in such well kept grounds.

Terry with his best
fish of the week at 33.7lb.
The camera did not do this fish justice.

Catch Report
Total weight 1462.5lb
Total number of fish 110
Terry PB 33.7lb
Daniel PB 31lb
We both caught Catfish and Sturgeon
with a couple of Grass Carp for good measure.
Absolutely awesome.
Finally our thanks must go to Alex and his family who made our trip so pleasant. Alex is very knowledgeable and a great angler himself. Always on hand if needed and nothing was to much trouble. His sister Linda kept us well fed, ably assisted by husband Tommy, the most relaxed angler I have ever met but still pulling in twenties and thirties. I cant think of any negatives to write about which has to be the sign of a great holiday. The facilities are first class and the showers are luxurious to say the least.
An absolutely fantastic week and we will be coming back in August.
